On Wednesday, April 30th, the Kindergarten children made mini-pizzas with their Grade six buddies. The students had a wonderful time adding pizza sauce, pepperoni, green peppers and cheese to their English muffin. The students then played with their buddies while the pizzas cooked and got to enjoy their creations together before lunch. The pizzas were tasty and a great time was had by all!

|On Monday, April 27th, Thorndale Choir and Thorndale Strings performed at the Council of Commissioners meeting. The choir is made up of Grade 2 to 6 students who meet once a week during lunch hour to prepare a challenging and enjoyable repertoire of many styles. Every Grade 3 to 6 student at Thorndale learns to play the violin in their music class. The Thorndale Strings are a small group of keen violinists and cellists who prepared a few special pieces to present. The children performed beautifully and received a standing ovation from the Commissioners and audience!

Kindergarten and Grade 1 Field Trip
April 15, 2015
The Kindergarten and Grade 1 trip to Provigo was a great success!!! The students baked delicious oatmeal muffins and created scrumptious parfaits to eat as our snack. Our wonderful chefs Terry and Laura took the time to discuss why the ingredients were added to the muffins and even the patterns we made in the parfaits. Our tour of the grocery store with Alessandra, the in-store dietician, was interactive and exciting.
The children were thrilled to pet Larry the Lobster, pick out items with different amounts of stars to add to our shopping cart and even to learn about how different kinds of foods and activities help our bodies to stay healthy. To finish off, the children even got to scan an item from our cart. Our bill came to $108. Not bad, considering we had picked up 5 bags of organic apples and umpteen cereal boxes!
All in all, we had a wonderful time and the children would highly recommend the trip for future Kindergarten classes!
